Friday March 20th

-We made it!!!  I can’t begin to tell you how extremely proud I am of you during this past week.  You took the task of remote learning and ran with it. I miss all of your amazing, smiling faces so much!  Please stay safe and healthy and have a great weekend!-

~Keep up the great work in taking attendance.  Try to take it as soon as you get on every day.  This helps me to put attendance into Rediker as soon as possible.   PLEASE NOTE - You must log in from Google for it to work, the best way to do this is through the student’s Chromebooks.

E-Learning Lessons:

Math:
  • Complete 30 minutes of IXL math time.  You may choose any topic or a number of topics to complete.  The only requirement, it must be 4th grade level work.
  • Feeling like putting in some extra time?  After you complete your 30 minutes of math review work, complete 15 more minutes on something we haven’t covered yet, like line segments etc.

Spelling:
  • Complete pages 161 in Unit 25.  Please make sure you write in cursive.
  • In a Google Doc, write each Spelling word in a complete sentence.  Underline or highlight the Spelling word. (Please write the Basic and Review words.)  Don’t forget to use correct capitalization and punctuation.
    • An example would be : I hope it is sunnier today than it was yesterday.
    • Share your work with me at grade4@stthereseroxbury.org.

Phonics:
  • Complete page 133 in cursive.

Language Arts:
  • With a reliable search engine and a Google Doc, research the rules of your favorite sport or activity.
  • I would like you to write a friendly letter to the owner or commissioner of that sport (it can be made up).  Request a rule change to your favorite sport or activity. Include how your change would make the game better.  Give reasons to support your idea.
    • Make sure to start your letter with the greeting Dear ________, and close with From, and your name.
    • Include a picture of your favorite sport or activity.

Religion:
  • We will still continue our daily Bible reading during the season of Lent, it will just look a little differently than what we normally see in the classroom.
  • Our reading for the day comes from Mark 12:28-34.
    • The Greatest Commandment
    • 28 One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?”
    • 29 “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.[e] 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’[f] 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[g] There is no commandment greater than these.”
    • 32 “Well said, teacher,” the man replied. “You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him. 33 To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.”
    • 34 When Jesus saw that he had answered wisely, he said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” And from then on no one dared ask him any more questions.
  • Read about the life of St. Joseph at the following link.

Something Fun!
  • Complete the assignment I put up on Brainpop.  You should watch the movie on Beethoven and then take the review quiz.  Since you are a part of my BrainPop class, I can check in and see if you have completed the review quiz.

God Bless,

Mrs. Rowland
