Homework:

Math:  Workbook p. 105.  15 minutes of IXL are due tomorrow, Tuesday 2/25.

Spelling:  Unit 22 work is due on Thursday.  Unit 22 test will be taken on Friday.

Phonics:  Complete pages 115-120 by Friday.

Language Arts:  Complete your IOWA testing acronyms to help you focus for the test.

Religion:  Lent begins on Ash Wednesday 2/26.  Please start thinking of how you would like to pray, do good works, or receive penance by giving something up.  We will be writing these down on purple strips of paper to commit to our Lenten fasts.

Upcoming Events:

-Ash Wednesday Mass will be on Wednesday February 26th at 8:30 a.m.  All are welcome to attend.

-The IOWA exams begin next week.  Please make sure you have at least 6 sharpened number 2 pencils and a good eraser.  Get a good nights sleep and eat a good breakfast before coming in to school.  Every little thing you can do to make yourself more comfortable helps.

English:  Workbook p.  145.  Find a school appropriate song that has a simile or a metaphor in it.  Print it out and highlight the specific part or parts.  If you do not have a printer, please hand write a few verses and identify the similes or metaphors.

Language Arts:  Bring in anything you need to work on your Winn Dixie class projects.  We will take our final test on Winn-Dixie on Tuesday.  Study the study guides we completed today in class.




~*We will have our class Valentine's Day celebration on Friday 2/14.  If you would like to bring in a bag or box to hold your Valentine's, that is encouraged.  Please make sure you bring in enough Valentine's to give to the entire class.  DO NOT BUY ANY FOOD ITEMS TO HAND OUT, THEY WILL NOT BE GIVEN OUT AND WILL BE SENT HOME.  Acceptable Valentine's items to hand out are cards, pencils, pens, erasers, crayons, stickers, tatoos, etc.*~

Upcoming Events:

-Our February Tag day is tomorrow 2/14.  The theme is Valentine's Day.  Wear red, pink, or any color related to Valentine's Day.  Make sure you bring in your dollar to support the eighth grade class.
