    • Jesus Anointed at Bethany
    • 12 Six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus lived, whom Jesus had raised from the dead. 2 Here a dinner was given in Jesus’ honor. Martha served, while Lazarus was among those reclining at the table with him. 3 Then Mary took about a pint[a] of pure nard, an expensive perfume; she poured it on Jesus’ feet and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.
    • 4 But one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, who was later to betray him, objected, 5 “Why wasn’t this perfume sold and the money given to the poor? It was worth a year’s wages.[b]” 6 He did not say this because he cared about the poor but because he was a thief; as keeper of the money bag, he used to help himself to what was put into it.
    • 7 “Leave her alone,” Jesus replied. “It was intended that she should save this perfume for the day of my burial. 8 You will always have the poor among you,[c] but you will not always have me.”
    • 9 Meanwhile a large crowd of Jews found out that Jesus was there and came, not only because of him but also to see Lazarus, whom he had raised from the dead. 10 So the chief priests made plans to kill Lazarus as well, 11 for on account of him many of the Jews were going over to Jesus and believing in him.
  • Read pages 238-241 in your Religion books.  Complete the We Respond on p. 240. We will be discussing these pages today during our Meet.

School Wide Project

We are announcing a school-wide project designed to encourage students to exercise their literary and artistic talents. The theme is: Jesus Christ is Risen. We invite students of all grades (including preschool), with parental assistance as needed, to create and submit drawings, paintings, poems, letters that celebrate and showcase the Joy of Easter. They should be submitted electronically either by scanning, or taking photos and emailing to: Deacon Murphy at: advmath@stthereseroxbury.org. We will collect and review all submissions and post as many as we can on the school website and social media. I've asked Deacon Stu Murphy to coordinate and review submissions that are submitted, to ensure they are appropriate.

Guidelines As a Catholic school we want to ensure what we post is appropriate therefore we may decline to post certain submissions if they do not meet the overall theme of this project, or are contrary to Catholic teaching.
Do encourage your students to be creative and look to nature, our Catholic faith, family, friends as well as within their own hearts for inspiration. Do photograph or scan and send from your email account we have on file. We will not accept submissions from non-recognized accounts, nor from social media. Do limit your submission, especially poetry or prose to a single page. Where appropriate, student's picture can be included in the submission (for example holding up their artwork). Finally, Do be creative, use your imagination and enjoy yourselves. We look forward to your seeing your work.

Religion:
  • We will still continue our daily Bible reading during the season of Lent, it will just look a little differently than what we normally see in the classroom.
  • Our reading for the day comes from John 8:51-59.
    • 51 Very truly I tell you, whoever obeys my word will never see death.”
    • 52 At this they exclaimed, “Now we know that you are demon-possessed! Abraham died and so did the prophets, yet you say that whoever obeys your word will never taste death. 53 Are you greater than our father Abraham? He died, and so did the prophets. Who do you think you are?”
    • 54 Jesus replied, “If I glorify myself, my glory means nothing. My Father, whom you claim as your God, is the one who glorifies me. 55 Though you do not know him, I know him. If I said I did not, I would be a liar like you, but I do know him and obey his word. 56 Your father Abraham rejoiced at the thought of seeing my day; he saw it and was glad.”
    • 57 “You are not yet fifty years old,” they said to him, “and you have seen Abraham!”
    • 58 “Very truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I am!” 59 At this, they picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus hid himself, slipping away from the temple grounds.
  • Take the Chapter 10 test that your parents picked up at St. Therese on Tuesday.
