  • This week’s Unit is Unit 31.  Complete p. 194-195 today.


Phonics:
  • Complete page 163 in cursive.


Language Arts:
  • In a Google Doc, use a food guide pyramid to discuss a lumberjack’s breakfast.

    • Read p. 224 again your your books.
    • Type a list of the food items the lumberjacks eat for breakfast.
    • Identify the food group for each of the food items.  For example, “bacon” belongs in the meat group.
    • Then answer the question, “Do you think the lumberjacks’ breakfast is a healthy was to eat?” Give me reasons to support your opinion. 


English:


Religion:
  • I corrected Religion p. 143G and left comments on your Docs.  If I asked you to fix something, please do and then resolve the comment.  We will review this today in our Meet.  Please try to edit this document before 1:45.
  • Complete p. 152 in your books.  Make sure you do the whole page, “Show What You Know” and “Picture This”.


Science:
  • Our new Unit in Science is “Plant Structure and Function” which begins on p. A8.
  • In a Google Doc, please write the heading “How are Plants Grouped?” and your name.
  • Then write and define the vocabulary words from this lesson starting on p. A8 (reproduce, classify, conifer, and spore)
  • Share this with me when you are done.

  • Read page 414 in your English textbooks.  This is a continuation of our Being Verbs lesson.  Today’s reading is on Linking Verbs.  Being Verbs can be Linking verbs.  Linking Verbs are the verbs that connect a sentence with a subject complement.
  • Complete Exercise #2 by writing the Linking Verb that would fit the sentence best.
  • Then complete workbook p. 75.
  • Missing Work Alert: I am missing yesterday's Activity D from Colin and Sophia R.

Religion:


Social Studies:
  • Find the “This Just In” Social Studies worksheet from your photocopies.  It looks like this:

  • You can choose between the following battles that occurred in New Jersey; The Battle of Trenton, The Battle of Princeton, or the Battle of Monmouth. Research these battles and answer the questions on this worksheet.
  • I know the paper says “we”, this was going to be an assignment you would have completed in a group.  You are going to complete this on your own though.  
  • Please answer all of the questions and come up with your own at the bottom.  We will be discussing these at our Meet time tomorrow.

    • The top section must be words that have a Vowel Consonant Vowel (VCV) pattern where the first vowel is short.
    • The bottom section must be words that have a Vowel Consonant Vowel (VCV) pattern where the first vowel is long.

Social Studies:
  • Go to Google Earth and Launch it.
  • Along the left side there are a few buttons that you can push to help you navigate.  Click on the square with the 5 dots inside.  This will take you to a random place on Earth.
  • Choose one of the places you are launched to and research that place.  Give me 5 facts you learned about that place.  (You can keep clicking the “I’m Feeling Lucky” button until you come to a place that interests you to research)
  • Put your information in a Google Doc and share it with me.  Make sure the name of the place and what country it is in is your heading and you have your name on the document.
